Bought 7 of the large bags today. My wife wanted to replace the soil in 3 flower beds and have some left for our outdoor pots & planters.
Done, & spread. We haven’t even planted anything yet.
Unfortunately, after getting them home and unloading them, I noticed it says ‘not to use is pots & planters’. But no explanation as to why. Outdoor pots? Why?
That said, I don’t know what all these bad reviews are about.
This soil is black & moist & SOIL. If there was sticks and junk in it I didn’t see them.
I’ll check back once we have some plants in, but right now, this seems like great stuff to me.
So far, really happy…but why ‘no pots’?

Bought 4 large bags of this soil for my raised garden beds. I was shocked to find pieces of hard green plastic pieces and a few pieces of what appeared to be aluminum foil tightly squeezed into hard pieces. To say I was shocked is putting it lightly. Would never have expected to see garbage in Miracle Gro. That, along with the price, has changed my mind about buying this ever again. Where do they get the stuff they mix together to make this soil anyway? Highly disappointed.

Terrible soil! Was hoping for a better product from Miracle Grow and am greatly disappointed. Soil has plastic (both solid pieces and smaller soft bag type) glass and parasite eggs!!! I know the yellow balls are fertilizer but not if they can be squished. Which these are! They pop!!!. I didn’t realize just how bad this soil was until I poured out 8 bags and started to hand break up the big chunks. 😭😭😭

Miracle Gro products are pretty reliable and the online price was the best overall, even though Ace Hardware was running a sale, the Walmart bag was larger so a better value. Also, these bags were not rain soaked or filthy from spillage of other bags. The attendant may have selected the cleaner bags because he didn’t want either of us to get messy which shows some good judgement on his part.

Purchased online at discounted price. Given two smaller Walmart brands which I refused, stating online purchase item. Was finally given, as a courtesy, the Miracle Grow products, as purchased online for pickup after I stated I intended to contact Walmart Customer Service. Not a first time problem.

I bought 4 bags of this soil from waynesboro Walmart and it hasn’t grown anything. It looks terrible it looks more like mulch. I bought a bag from Sam’s club same brand and it looks like soil and is darker and worked amazing. Very disappointed 4 bags and are total trash. What a waste of money and time.

Seems so far to work better then HOme Depot top soil. Better soil still wish it had more dirt in it then like mulch. Grass is starting to grow after 3wks. While HD was growing around there’s cause it had even more twigs no mulch , that’s HD.

These bags smelled like pure manure and the smell didn’t dissipate once I mixed it in with the soil in my garden 🤢. Every single bag was soaking wet inside and had big manure-like chunks that wouldn’t break up. This product wasn’t anywhere close to the quality I’ve purchased in previous years. Not sure if this was a Walmart specific problem or was if other stores had issues also.

Seriously???? It’s garden soil. Is one better than another??? Oh wait, there was only one in the store… doesn’t matter.
Reasonably priced…. hard to find in the off-season.
