This knife set is cute and comes with it’s own storage block but the knives itself aren’t sharp. I had to keep going over the same slice of pizza several times before it finally cut all the way through. This was the normal size knives that I use on a day to day basis.

I received this Mainstays Stainless Steel Cutlery Set as part of Walmart’s Spark Reviewer Program. This is great for all your cutting needs. What I like is it stored in a wooden block. This makes it convenient to get the knives as you need them. It is also compact which saves counter space and is great for small kitchens. There are many different kinds of knives in the set. Perfect for all of your food preparation needs. There are six steak knives. There is also an 8 inch chef knife as well as a 7.5 inch bread knife. There is one utility knife and a paring knife. Having all these different knives in this set is great because as you prepare dinner and you need different knives for different preparations it’s right there so convenient to you. The handles are plastic ,comfortable to hold and weighted to make it easier to cut. I also like the fact that it is stainless steel so not only will it last a long time but it will not rust. The best thing of all is the fact that they never need sharpening. This is great because many of us don’t have the time to sharpen a knife that we may find dull as we are preparing dinner. I prepared a chicken dinner using these knives. I was able to trim the chicken with no issues at all. The steak knives cut through the chicken once it was cooked like butter. I highly recommend these knives for the convenience, versatility and function.

I received the Mainstays 12 Piece Cutlery Set with Wood Storage Block Soft Grip from the Spark Reviewer program for my fair and honest opinion. All pros and no cons on this great set of knives.
The wooden block helps me to organize and keep all my knives on hand without searching for what I need. There are 11 slots for the 11 knives that come with the set. The knives consist of an 8″ chef knife, an 8″ carving knife, a 7.5″ bread knife, a 5.5″ utility knife, a 3.5″ paring knife, and six 4.75″ steak knives. Personally I love watching all the cooking shows, and I have some idea what all the knives are used for except the utility knife. It’s bigger than the paring knife and smaller than the bread knife. All of the knives are very sharp which is how I want my knives to be. I do not want to deal with a dull knife. As a matter of fact, this Mainstays Cutlery Set states on the box that the blades never need sharpening. I can’t say anything about that yet, I’ve only had the knives for 2 weeks. I know that this set of knives meets all of my needs. The knives are dishwasher safe, even with the soft grip handles which make using them for big kitchen jobs, like chopping lots of vegetables, ideal. I recommend them to anyone looking for their basic set of knives.

DO NOT busy this knife set. The block itself is cheap and to top it off the knives are even cheaper quality. Listen, if a sharp knife can’t even cut into a soft block of cheese without breaking, you know you got a cheap set. To top it off it wasn’t just one knife but TWO that broke in the exact same place! Garbage!

If you plan on using these knives for their intended use, to cut or slice things, you will be greatly disappointed as they do not do that. At all. I expected cheap but not worthless.

all i did was wash the knives in my dishwasher and there’s rust all over them they also don’t cut anything but steak and bread there’s one knife that works for fruits and veggies but it’s the smallest one so you can’t cut a potato or anything larger than a kiwi

I picked this up on one of the Walmart in-house sales and I think I paid less than $20 for the entire set. it is really worth it, the knives are well sharpened the wood holder is firm and I’m just really really satisfied with it. good show Walmart

this is a horrible knife set, whoever thought every knife should be serated needs their head examine. all this set will do is chew up your cutting boards while not even cutting what you need to get done
