I’ve wanted to try a stone drying mat for a while now and I chose this white one because it matches my countertop and blends in easily so I can leave it out. It came with a little mesh lining that goes under it to protect your counter, and it was rolled up into a circle, because the grooves between the stones are plastic and bendable. I’d say it was probably twice as round as a Pringle’s can, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to store when not in use. I had a houseful and served about 15 people, so I did four sink loads of dishes so I thought I’d see how it did. To be honest, I didn’t really notice that it absorbed very quickly but when I was done I did have to dump the excess water into the sink. That was probably more from the plastic grooves between the stones than the actual stones themselves. (And I did four loads of dishes). It was soaking wet under the mat when I was finished. I can’t really say it is more absorbent than a dish towel but I can say it is much more attractive. But, after seeing how much water was under it, I don’t really want to leave my dishes in the strainer to dry like I would if it was on a dish towel. I did a time lapse video and if you look super close you can see the discoloration in it from where it is still damp after I stood it on its side. To clean it you just wipe it clean, unless the stains are dark or won’t wipe off. They included a sandpaper swatch with a very light grit that is to be used in cases like that. I would say it works as described other than if you do a lot of dishes, then the excess water will seep underneath the plastic and leave your counter really wet. Like it did in my case the first time I used it. I ended up putting the stone mat in the dish strainer to let it finish drying. I will use it more and jump back on if I find after more use my opinion changes.

This is my second stone drying mat. I didn’t care for the pattern on the first one. This one is nice and simple. I like these because they are more sanitary than using towels, and air drying things upside down prevents moisture from accumulating inside. It comes with an anti-slip mat that works well, and a piece of sanding paper to refresh the stone. It’s a good size and nice quality.

It is exquisite and simple. I did not know what to expect, but it helped a lot during the drying process. Because it absorbs the water from the dishes and eliminates the need to use towels or tissues. It is great for your kitchen and helps you keep things simple, clutter-free and elegant

Love these diatomaceous drying mats. I have one above my over-sink dish rack, but wanted another for next to the sink. I don’t have a dishwasher so every now and then when I have big wash days, I have overflow drying room. This mat is really nice, good quality- rolls well when needed (doesn’t roll into a super small roll but it’s enough for me), and works well for drying every kind of dish. Really glad to have a backup.

This mat looks great, the stone slats absorb well, and the fact that it rolls up makes for easy storage. I would give it four and a half stars, but that’s not an option so I’m rounding up. It seems a bit weird to be leaving a five-star review for something that I won’t likely be using often, but, as others have noted, this does tend to build up water underneath. It absorbs most, and picking up the remainder with a dish towel is a simple thing after picking it up for storage, but our kitchen counter is so small that I actually need a solid mat of the sort that I can lay flat on the counter and leave in place for continuous absorption, one that will not spill between slabs. I don’t have room for the extra coffee can slice of counter this would take to store vertically when not in use, so we’ll have to hold in another room until needed, which kills its utility for me, but probably not for most people.

I really love stone drying mats and have tried many, but this is my first folding one. I was attracted to this style for the space saving abilities, and I am not disappointed. We had a flat drying stone mat, but I didn’t like that it was always on the counter, even when we didn’t need to dry anything. I much prefer my counters to be clear of clutter, but this was more difficult with the large flat mat. With this folding one, I can easily roll it up and store it, taking up much less space.
I was concerned that water would drip between the stones, but there is actually a material throughout the underside of the mat, so no water will get through.

I don’t typically get white stone mats, as they do tend to stain and get dirty, but hopefully with this one not being out on the counter 24/7, it will keep its color longer.
